Big Brain is a fictional afrosurrealist episodic scripted series that explores the weight of consciousness navigating the Charlotte art world.

The goal of Big Brain is to tell a relatable coming-of-age story that follows the journeys of two Black 20-somethings navigating both internal and external challenges. This story explores what makes ignorance so bliss. As they overcome obstacles, this series reveals that even though it can be difficult, understanding and acting is important to survival in a cut-throat world. With overarching themes of self-discovery through the arts while fighting the evils of prejudice and challenging the societal norms set upon Black and brown communities this series seeks to represent the voice of a demographic of people that want the world to see the importance of art and the effects of a world without.

We imagine that this pilot will blossom into a series that harvests a diverse community of viewers who are interested in young fresh voices.

The pilot will premiere this June at the Charlotte Black Film Festival. More details coming soon.
